Hi guys! How is everybody doing? Well, between this post and the last one, nothing new has been going on on the hooky front here. I’m still busy finishing the blanket for my sister, the joining is nearly done and I’ll show you guys some pics when I start the bordering.
But that was not very important last week. What was, is that we have a new addition to the family! We already had 2 cats, both picked up from shelters. However, we never had a kitten (well I had back home but Kev never had any cats whatsoever before we moved in together). After watching way too much catmovies online, we decided it would be pretty cute to have one ourselves. And there you have it, once that thought pops into your head, resistance is futile. So on we went to a website listing all the cats from most of the shelters here. One cat got our attention… She looked so stubborn and that would probably fit in perfectly. So we went over there last saturday to get to meet her. We could take her home right away! After a little bit of meowing and crouching around, Cocktail decided she would be the big daddy. Seriously, she’s keeping a weary eye on everything we do with the kitten! Isis was not so fond of the new familymember though. It took a whooping two days for her to get to like her, and now they are one big kitty family.
So, are you ready for some pictures?
She’s a cheeky one who never lets you sleep, which is annoying but yet so adorable!
She also sleeps a lot, for which I’m grateful as she does like to ruin the occasional yarn action here.
On another note, I recently ordered a yarn winder. I got quite a few skeins which were getting twisted and messy. So I got to play with the winder (well, play is a large word as it only has 1 function and setting) and it’s working like a charm! The rhythm is kind of soothing actually. So I caked a few skeins. Seriously, those are far more easy to store. The pics below are from my huge skein of rainbow yarn. I still don’t know which project it will be used for, but at least it’s in a big cake now!
Well, I’m off to work. Next time I’ll show you guys some pics of the blanket! And I think it’s time for another edition of ‘Pretty Pins’.. Anyone got any suggestions for a topic?
