For those of you who know me personally, I get very restless when I have nothing to do with my hands. I’m always busy, making one thing or another, but doing something nevertheless. It’s getting colder and the days are remarkably short now daylight saving time is over, and with the drop in temperature some sort of ancient instinct kicks in to start making blankets. Unfortunately, the sampler blanket is pretty large and poses quite a challenge when you want to bring it along with you to lunch, college or anywhere for that matter.
On to my Crochet blankets board I went and started looking for a motive blanket. After all, motives are fairly quick to whip up and easy to take along with you. Boy, it’s very hard to make a choice out of all those amazing blankets! In the end I went with this pattern.
So now I’m busy making motives again. I had to force myself not to choose all colours possible. I limited it to the following palette (stylecraft ofcourse):
I’d say I contained myself rather well, didn’t I?
I don’t have very much to show for now, considering I only made 6 motives. But you get the idea! I’m not sure on how I will join them, probably with parchment as well.
I love the fact that the flower petals are actually raised above the square.
I can see a mental image of warm, soft winterblanket. Perfect for the cold days ahead! For now I’ve got something to keep my hands busy.
