If you’ve been reading my blog, you know that I’ve been working on a new rainbow project.

A lucky coincidence lined up the right colours of Scheepjes Riverwashed for me to take to the other side of the world to get started on this project.

Back home, I ordered some more balls to grow my project.

Accidentally I got the buttons to match too ;). It’s the little things!

The Larksfoot stitch

You might recognize the stitch. I’ve made a little variation on the Larksfoot stitch, a rewarding stitch to work on. It’s very rhythmical and although the project is fairly large, it works up quite quickly, something that pleasantly surprised me. The Larksfoot stitch consists of two rows, one where you make a dropped stitch and a row on top to create holes to work your next row of dropped stitches in. Once you get the hang of it, you can do it blindly. TV crochet!

It makes for a nice straight edge too! The only downside of working in rows is the sheer amount of ends. I tend to take an episode of one of my favourite shows and weave in all I can during that time. I work up some new rows, and then do it again. You’ll be amazed how many ends you can weave in in ~45 minutes!

I’m almost at the finish line. Next challenge: the border! But that’s something for a different blog post. And don’t worry, I’m writing the pattern as I go too!

Where can I get this yarn?

You can find the yarn via Scheepjes Retailers, or online in the following webshops:
