Hello everyone! How are you all doing today? It’s been a week since I’ve picked up my new furniture. When we left the lovely lady where we picked it up, it started snowing like crazy. And I mean crazy crazy because in no time there were traffic jams everywhere. Last week has been filled with snow and I’m loving it! It has been pretty cold but I’ don’t mind. Unfortunately I don’t have any pictures to show you because I didn’t have any time during the day to take them!
However, now the temperatures start rising again the snow has melted in no-time. It has been raining since tonight and it’s a sad grey day today. But I found something to cheer me up! (I know, the pictures aren’t great, but I was too lazy to go outside in this horrible weather so I took the pictures from inside…)
This is the sight from my very window; A yarn shop! It has been there since I’ve moved here. I really have to strain myself from not stepping in every time I see some pretty yarn when I open my curtains. But now I think about it, I haven’t been there in 3 months or so! Quite an achievement for a yarn-addict. But do you see what’s in the window on top of the cabinet?
Next to the (kinda freaky) mannequin head is a very, very adorable monkey! O how I wish I could knit well enough to make something like that. I’m determined to learn myself to knit better this year! And hopefully at the end of this year, I can knit myself a cheeky little monkey like that.
It seems like january is the right month to clean some ‘old year’ business out. I’ve seen it popping up on various blogs. Everybody is sorting through their yarn stash to organize it and maybe find the one colour that will definetely match the project you’re working on and never thought you had. And since I’m always in for a bit of yarn-therapy, I decided to get my yarn out of the baskets once again. However, once it was out I couldn’t stand the thought of putting it back in. So I just stacked it in my open closet. Now I have my own yarnshop right at home (and at a bargain price too!), which already resulted in various projects being formed in my head.
I had to crop most of this picture out because honestly, the room is a mess right now. But hey, sundaymorning is a lazy morning right! (There will be a cleanup session following quite soon I fear). But apart from that, I love the way in which I don’t have to think about the colours anymore but just grab and match them! It’s all stylecraft, other yarns I’ve still got in a basket stashed away. Only the top left 2 skeins on the bottom shelf are Scheepjeswol, once bought in a whim to be turned into a scarf but still unused stashed away. I still have to find the right pattern for it. One day I’ll find it!
