If you're planning on making the Colourful State of Mind blanket in Scheepjes Catona, please read through this information beforehand.
The Catona colours
The pattern calls for 12 colours of Cotton 8. I've selected the corresponding Catona colours. Please note that you'll need 75 grams of each colour (so that means 1 ball of 50g and 1 ball of 25g).
- Colour A: 115 Hot Red
- Colour B: 281 Tangerine
- Colour C: 208 Yellow Gold
- Colour D: 280 Lemon
- Colour E: 392 Lime Juice
- Colour F: 253 Tropic
- Colour G: 146 Vivid Blue
- Colour H: 201 Electric Blue
- Colour I: 394 Shadow Purple
- Colour J: 240 Amethyst
- Colour K: 114 Shocking Pink
- Colour L: 398 Colonial Rose
Crochet hook
The original blanket is made with Cotton 8 and a 3.0mm crochet hook. Catona is slightly thicker compared to Cotton 8. As such, I would go for a 3.5mm crochet hook.
Measurements
Working with a thicker yarn and a bigger hook automatically means that your motifs and your blanket will be bigger. Each motif will measure approximately 14.5cm (5.7in) from point to point and 13cm (5.1in) from flat side to flat side. The final measurements of your blanket will be approximately 120 x 100cm (47.25 x 39.3in).
