The “Fill me up” Christmas stocking features dropped stitches and a big cuff. The pattern is suitable for all skill levels and is written in US terms.

Notes
- When joining a round, skip the ch1 you made at the beginning of the round and instead join in the first hdc.
- The stocking is made by working the cuff first, and making the stocking bottom up. You’ll later attach the cuff to the stocking.
- Spike stitches line up throughout the pattern. Because working in the round tends to slant your stitches, you move 1 stitch to the right with each spike stitch row in order for the stitches to visually match up. If you find that you rather shift 2 stitches instead of one, or none, that’s fine as well and won’t influence the pattern.
Crochet pattern
Cuff
With Colour A, ch21.
Hold both short sides together and with Colour A, *ss front loop and beginning chain together; repeat from * to end. Fasten off.
Stocking (from toe up)
With Colour A, make magic loop.
Cut yarn and fasten off.
Join Colour B with ss.
Identify the stitch right above a spike st 1 round below in round 8, Join Colour A in stitch to the right of that stitch with ss.
Identify the stitch right above a spike st 1 round below in round 13, Join Colour C in stitch to the right of that stitch with ss.
Identify the stitch right above a spike st 1 round below in round 20, Join Colour A in stitch to the right of that stitch with ss.
Identify the stitch right above a spike st 1 round below in round 25, Join Colour D in stitch to the right of that stitch with ss.
Weave in any loose ends.

Heel
Join Colour A in the corner of the heel opening (where the ch starts).
Cut yarn.
Fold heel with 9 st on each side. Use the long tail to sew the stitches together.
Loop
With Colour B, ch14. Join with ss.
Cut yarn and fasten off.
Bell cord
With Colour C, ch45, cut yarn. Fasten bells to yarn ends.

Assembly
Place your cuff on round 36. With a long piece of Colour D, sew the outer loops of round 36 to the side of the rows of the cuff, making sure to sew 1 row to 1 stitch. Weave in all loose ends. Fold the cuff over itself to the outside. Attach bell cord to loop.
