Adjusting measurements
The pattern repeat is 2 stitches + 1, so any odd number will do. The original pattern is made with 251 chains. Every 2 chains you add, add 0.87cm (0.35 in) to the circumference.
If you want to adjust the height of the cowl, simply change the number of coloured sections, or add or remove rows per coloured section. Every coloured section of 14 rows adds ~10 cm (4 in).
